| Mission Statement |
The Guilford Handcraft Center is a non-profit institution established to nurture and support excellence in the arts through education, communication and outreach. Through our classes for adults and children, our gallery, educational programs, shop of contemporary crafts, and special events, the Center provides opportunities for the public to participate in the arts, to experience their cultural and historical diversity, and to appreciate the process and product of creative work. The Center works to preserve craft traditions and foster innovation by providing a nurturing environment where artists of all ages may gather, practice, exhibit, teach and exchange ideas. Gifts to the Center serve to underwrite the cost of our school and gallery operation.

| Description of Service |
Guilford Art Center seeks contemporary craft artists to participate in its Craft Expo 2017, its 60th annual juried exhibition and sale of fine craft to be held on July 14-16, 2017 on the Guilford Green. One of the oldest outdoor craft shows in the northeast, Craft Expo is open to crafts made by hand or with the use of appropriate tools, by an individual and/or with help from a limited number of assistants/apprentices. Works must be handmade in the USA or Canada, be of high quality, well-designed, and convey artistic originality and vision. Event benefits Guilford Art Center’s educational programs.
Applications are juried from 5 digital images of artist’s work. Entry deadline is January 9, 2017: $40 entry fee. Late deadline is January 16, 2017: $60 late entry fee.
Notifications of acceptance will be sent out on February 7, 2017. |
