Description of Program Decentralized Arts Funding (DAF) is a state program designed to ensure that citizens in all Louisiana parishes have access to high quality arts and cultural programs. On behalf of the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge administers this program for the following parishes: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, Washington, West Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana.

An applicant may submit a grant proposal in one of two categories – organizational support, which funds general operating expenses of arts organizations, or project assistance, which supports the artistic costs of any non-profit presenting arts programming.
Conditions/Public Service Requirements Funded projects must directly benefit the community & include active community participation.

Other Restrictions The DAF Program funds art only. It will not fund programming considered entertainment rather than fine/cultural art, history or living history, or non-professional artists. If the arts are only one portion of a larger program, such as a festival or series, the grant funds will support the artistic portion only.

Fiscal agents must be domiciled in the same parish as the sub-applicant. Fiscal agents may not serve as a provider of service within the same project. See guidelines for additional specifications.

Ideal Contact Month for New Application and Guidelines
Selection Process/Criteria A Community Review Panel that reflects the area's ethnic, demographic, and geographic diversity in addition to having the artistic and administrative expertise needed to evaluate applications will convene to review the applications. Each parish is guaranteed representation on the panel. Criteria include artistic merit (35%); need and impact (30%); planning and design (20%); and administration and budget (15%). See guidelines for details.
