Description of Service |
The Education Program broadens the understanding of developing world cultures through cinema. Using three films from the Granting and Acquisitions Programs, the Initiative collaborates with the Museum of Modern Art’s Education Department and an advisory board of creative educators to design and implement an annual package of study guides, lesson plans, and audiovisual material. Supporting high school and higher education curricula, the package is multidisciplinary in its content exploring social and political concerns, ethics, cultural dynamics and film aesthetics. The multidisciplinary approach supplements existing curricula - social studies, language arts, history, media studies, and art classes – but also functions as a self-contained unit.
