Mission Statement The mission of the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation is to identify, preserve, and enhance Hispanic arts and humanities. Founded in 1983 as a non-profit corporation by Hispanic community leaders, the Foundation worked from 1983 to 1999 to support Hispanic artists and cultural organizations as well as develop and offer educational programs for students of all ages. The founders' dream of a place where national and international artists could display their talents and be received by visitors from throughout the world came true in 2000 with the opening of the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC). TheNHCC, located along the Camino Real in the historic Barelas neighborhood of Albuquerque, New Mexico, now serves as a national focal point for the study, advancement, and presentation of Hispanic arts, culture, and humanities.
