Description of Program This program provides non-residential studio space at A&H’s Maitland Art Center to established or emerging artists for the professional practice and research of fine art. This program is an opportunity to interact with A&H’s community of artists and art enthusiasts while working in an historic environment.
Conditions/Public Service Requirements The artist will be available for a designated 12-­month period and can participate for a maximum of 3 consecutive years. Artists and writers are expected to maintain an open studio during certain events and meet with the Art School Manager on a quarterly basis. Visual artists must donate an artwork for the organization's annual silent auction, and are required to give a 30% commission of studio sales to Art and History Museums Maitland. Artists and writers will provide his/her own materials/supplies for production of artwork. Writers will have the option of participating through public readings or printed publications.

Selection Process/Criteria The applicant must demonstrate his/her commitment to the professional pursuit of fine art. A personal interview will be required of the top three candidates.
