VSA Arts of Minnesota will award six $2,000 grants to Minnesotans with disabilities who are emerging artists, working to establish (or reestablish) an arts career, and who propose to create new work in their arts medium during the award year. These annual grants are made possible by the Jerome Foundation. |

Applications will be accepted from individuals who meet all of these qualifications:
• Emerging artists, working to establish (or reestablish) an arts career, who propose to create new work in their arts medium in the award year.
• Residents of Minnesota who have a disability.
• Artists who have NOT received a VSA Minnesota Emerging Artist Grant in the two preceding grant cycles (2010 or 2011). An artist is eligible to receive this grant every three years.

Selection Process/Criteria |
The jury process will apply the following criteria in deciding awards:
80%: Artistic Quality (technical proficiency, creativity, clear artistic voice and
exceptional exploration in the chosen medium as demonstrated in work samples).
20%: Emerging Artistic Career (indicated by résumé, past work and statements
that the artist's work is a serious pursuit guided by a personal, artistic vision). |
