Description of Service |
Regular Referrals
Regular referrals are standard referrals for clients seeking representation to assist them with their creative arts or innovation legal matters. Regular referrals include a free 30-minute consultation with an attorney. If additional work is required beyond the free consultation, the client and attorney negotiate additional fees to complete the matter.
Pro Bono Referrals
Pro Bono clients apply to CLA by completing an initial intake screening, and if appropriate to proceed further, clients complete a detailed financial screening. CLA takes a holistic approach to financial screening including many factors such as a review of the applicant’s adjusted gross income, not to exceed 150% of the current federal poverty guidelines.
Modest Means Referrals
The Modest Means Program bridges the gap between pro bono and regular referrals. If an applicant does not qualify for pro bono assistance after reviewing the financial screening application, the client may qualify for one of three tiers within our modest means program. These tiers offer low fixed legal fees of $60, $80 or $100 per hour.
