Description of Program BlackPublicMedia.org reviews and considers for distribution on a rolling basis films about the black experience globally. Our content priorities include films in contemporary settings depicting black life and experience in a rare and often overlooked context. We are most thrilled by those cinematic gems which bring to us knowledge that has been ignored by popular culture; films outside the norm which approach black characters, stories and locales in a fresh and engaging manner. BlackPublicMedia.org also supports the production of interactive online content designed to engage any audience interested in African Diaspora content online.
Conditions/Public Service Requirements Producers whose programs have been selected for funding will be required to sign a binding NBPC document or contract. Until a grant document is signed by both the applicant and NBPC, NBPC makes no expressed or implied commitment to support a project financially. As a condition of the grant or contract, producers must agree to NBPC's standard terms and conditions, which include assignment of public TV broadcast rights and share of net profits. Please see guidelines for details, available online.
